CLAM CHOWDER

2 cans (6½oz. ea.) minced clams
6 potatoes, peeled and diced'
6 carrots, diced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup margarine
1½ cups water
2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz)
2 large cans evaporated milk, not condensed (12 0z. ea)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Drain clams, reserving juice.  Set the clams aside.  In a large  kettle,
combine clam juice, potatoes, carrots, onion, margarine and water.
Cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until veggies are tender.
Stir in soup, milk, salt and pepper.  Simmer until heated  through.  Stir in
